Annual Competitions

Since 2008, the Institute has been organizing a nationwide essay competition called “Return to the Qur’an”. This initiative aims to:

• Attract students towards the Holy Quran by inspiring them to delve deeper into its teachings.
• Address non-Muslim concerns about the Quran: Open the floor for constructive dialogue and clear up misconceptions.
• Equip students to directly grasp the timeless and universal message of the Quran: Develop their understanding of the Quran’s profound and enduring teachings.

How it works:

• Students from madrassas and universities interested in research and writing are invited to participate.
• Each competition focuses on specific themes related to the Quran and its interpretations.
• Essays are judged by two independent, expert referees who assess the writing based on content, relevance, style, and source usage.
• To ensure anonymity, essays are coded and personal information is removed before evaluation.
• The Head of the Order, after reviewing both referees’ assessments and their own analysis, makes the final decision on the winners.
• A committee oversees the entire process to ensure transparency and fairness.
• Each participant receives a participation certificate, and winners are awarded cash prizes.
