Series of Qur’anic seminars

On July 26-27, 2005 a two day seminar was organised by the Institute. A number of  eminent scholars from Muslim religious and academic institutions as well as universities participated in it. They contributed research papers on various aspects of the developments taking place in the field of Qur’anic Studies, important exegetical trends, contributions of various eminent Mufassirun as well as some of the debates that have been going on during the recent  years in connection with the teachings of the Qur’an. Proceeding of the seminar  have been published in a volume consisting of 532 pages.

The announcement of the topic of the seminar, to write a research and academic paper on it, those who like the subject are invited for the paper and given 8-9 months time. First the prospective writer is asked to submit topic and a summary of his proposed paper. Then another date is given to submit the complete paper. After receiving the paper, experts’ opinions are sought from referees to check the quality of the paper. The experts comments are sent to the author to review the paper if so asked by the reviewer to revise his paper in the light of his comments and make corrections wherever necessary. After thus completed paper  received, a preliminary collection of papers to be presented in the seminar is prepared. And during the seminar, the collection of articles is presented to the audience . In the seminar, adequate time is given for the presentation of the paper for discussion and debate according to academic traditions. The last stage of the seminar is that after revision by the thesis writers, the collection of articles is published in book form. The Institute has prepared several such valuable nvolumes.
