Qur’anic Sciences was established in 1984 with the following aims and objectives:
- To try to find solutions for the problems confronting the Ummah and the humanity at large in the light of the teachings of the Qur’an.
- To try to revive and revitalise the Islamic religious sciences and purify and Islamize the modern sciences in the light of the teachings of the Qur’an.
- To conduct researches on important issues and themes connected with the Qur’an.
The sphere of work:
For the purposes of realizing these aims and objectives, the Institute has outlined a modest programme and for the present intends to confine its activities within this area.To publish a standard specialist journal of the Qur’anic studies for the dissemination of the Qur’anic sciences and teachings and promoting research in the area of Qur’anic Studies.
- To prepare books on issues and themes related to the Qur’an and its worldview and publish them.
- To establish a reference library with special emphasis on Qur’anic studies.
- To arrange for the training and supervision of students to conduct research in the area of Qur’anic Studies and to provide for necessary stipends and scholarships for the purpose.
- To organise discussions and symposia on the Qur’anic themes.
- To establish contacts with the other centres of Islamic sciences and institutions working for the realization of the same objectives.
